I grew up in a small town and going to church was just a part of life for me and my family. I gave my life to Christ when I was 9 years old. As a teenager, I grew further and further away from God. I started using drugs and binge drinking at a very young age. That lasted well into my adulthood.
A few years after high school, our awesome little family began with my amazing and beautiful wife, Crystal, and our sweet daughter. We had chilled out, for the most part, on the hard drugs, but my relationship with God was nonexistent.
After many dead-end jobs, I decided to go to college for graphic design in 2012. Art has always been a huge passion of mine. Straight out of college, I worked at a print shop for a few years and grew my love for printing and design. I started screen printing, digital printing and offering graphic design services through my small studio, MG Design in 2015. Things were going pretty well with my family and business, but I knew something was missing in my life.
In 2016, I felt a calling to attend church with my wife and eventually rededicated my life to Christ. For years I was convinced Christians were slaves to an imaginary God. He showed up and proved me wrong…I was the slave – a slave to the world. I finally realized the amazing freedom found in Christ.
In 2018, I went into full time ministry working as a graphic designer for a local church while also pursuing MG Design. I started designing and printing a few faith based t-shirts and the idea for a clothing brand was born.
In November of 2020, Crystal and I rebranded our design and printing business to Reclaim Print Co. Disciple Threads is now officially a product line of Reclaim Print Co.
Disciple Threads is my testimony to the world – to share the freedom found in Christ in a creative way. My design style has always been heavily influenced by alternative culture, but I wanted to turn that into something positive. People that have tattoos, love heavy music, or have had a rough past need the love of God in their lives just like anyone else does. Our goal is to bridge that gap. Jesus loved the “outcasts” and so do we.
